The Katy Perry, Dark Horse music video glitch on Datamoshing.com is such a cool way to create art through a glitch in a video. It completely changed the vibe of the entire song. It made a difference in the sound and atmosphere of the music video. This basically works by using a program called Advidemux and messing with the format of the video and configuring the Maximum Eye frame Interval to 99999. This will create a melting affect to the middle of the video. This effect is the frames of the video replacing one another and that how it achieves the melting effect or glitching effect. The way that the video keeps cutting frames is because during the morphing process you can choose to skip certain key frames creating the jumping forward effect. Seeing the artistic side of glitches in videos like this one makes me think of what Rosa Menkmen said, “To think with glitch is to straddle a gap between non-sense and knowledge.” Menkman, Rosa. The Genre Paradox. Rosa Menkman, 2011, webcourses.ucf.edu/courses/1373982/files/84830752?module_item_id=14394689.
